The Odisha Education Service (OES) Exam is conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to recruit Group-B education officers. Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 21–38 years as of 1st January 2025 ( A 5 year relaxation for ST/SC/SEBC )
• Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce + B.Ed   OR Bachelor degree + M.Ed and the candidate must posses a computer certificate.

Overview of OES School Branch 2025

The OES  exam is conducted to fill administrative and supervisory roles in government schools, including:

• Headmaster (Secondary Schools)
• Block Education Officer (BEO)
• Other administrative positions

Salary

Odisha Education Service Officers will be appointed in Group B post under School and mass education Department Odisha in Scale Pay of Rs.44,900/- in Level -10, Cell- 01 with usual DA and other allowances.

• Promotions:
  • Headmaster → Block Education Officer (BEO) → District Education Officer (DEO)
  • Deputy Inspector (DI) → Higher Administrative Roles

Exam Pattern

The Selection of candidate for requirement of the post shall be made on the basis of Written Examination and Viva Vose test

Written Exam (350 Marks):

• The exam will be objective based for the General Knowledge & Education and subjective for General English.  
• Candidates will be given two hours to complete each paper. 
• There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
