The Government of Odisha has introduced an important update to the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2010. In which a Board Examination will be conducted at the end of Class 5 and Class 8. The Students who will fail in this board annual Examination of Class 5 and Class 8 will be retained in the same class.Here’s a simplified breakdown of the key changes:
Key Updates:
Exams in 5th and 8th Class:
Students will now face regular Board exams at the end of 5th and 8th Class in all the Government Schools of Odisha.
Second Chance for Failed Students:
If a child fails the exam of Class 5 and Class 8 they will receive extra help from the teachers in their preparation and a re-examination will be conducted for these students within two months.
Holding Back a Student:
If the child fails the re-exam, they may be held back in same 5th or 8th grade for next year.
No Dropout:
No child can be dropout from school until they complete elementary education up to 8th Class until he pass the Examination.
When Do These Rules Start?
As per the short notice published by Government of odisha this new rules take effect as soon as they are published in the Odisha Gazette.
