What Is the New “Missed Call Messages” Feature?
Earlier, if a person didn’t receive your WhatsApp call, you had two options – call again or send a message/voice note separately. Now, WhatsApp has made it easier. When your call is not answered, you will see an option on the screen to “Record voice message” or leave a video note (if it was a video call). You can record your message right there, and it will be sent to the person automatically. When they open WhatsApp later, they will see your missed call along with the message you left.
This feature works for both voice calls and video calls. WhatsApp says this could make traditional voicemails “a thing of the past” as people can now leave quick audio or video messages directly in the app.
How to Use WhatsApp Missed Call Messages (Step-by-Step)
Using this feature is very simple and feels natural if you already use WhatsApp calls daily. Here’s how it works in easy steps:
First, open WhatsApp and go to the chat of the person you want to call. Tap on the phone icon (for voice call) or video camera icon (for video call) at the top right. If the person doesn’t answer your call, WhatsApp will show a screen with a missed call, and just below it you’ll see a new option called “Record voice message”.
If you tap this option, WhatsApp will start recording your voice immediately. You can speak whatever you wanted to tell them, then press the arrow/send button to send it.
