Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

Educational Qualification for OSSSC Forest Guard & Forester 2026

• Forest Guard
  • Must have passed High School Certificate Examination (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognised board.​
• Forester
  • Must have passed +2 / Intermediate Science from a recognised board or institution.
  • Must also have basic knowledge of computer skills.​

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 38 years (for all applicants)​

Age Relaxation (as per rules)

• SC / ST / SEBC / Women: +5 years
• PwD (Persons with Disability): +10 years
• Gomitra candidates: +7 years​

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The OSSSC Forest Guard and Forester selection will happen in three stages:​

1. Written Examination
   • Objective‑type MCQ questions
   • 150 questions for 150 marks
   • Duration: 150 minutes
   • Negative marking: 0.50 mark deducted for each wrong answer
   • Question standard: High School / Class 10 level​
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
   • Checks height, chest (for males) and running/physical endurance as per post‑wise norms.​
3. Document Verification
   • Final verification of certificates, category claims and other eligibility conditions.​

Candidates must qualify at each stage to be finally selected.

Salary & Application Fee

• Forest Guard
  • Pay Level 4 – Basic salary ₹19,900 per month.
• Forester
  • Pay Level 7 – Basic salary ₹25,500 per month.​
