Eligibility Criteria for OPSC AMO 2026
Candidates must ensure they satisfy the following criteria before filling out the online application.
1. Educational Qualification
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) or equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institution approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine.
- Must have completed compulsory rotatory internship/housemanship on or before the last date of application submission.
- Must have permanent registration under the Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines. (Note: Provisional registration will not be entertained).
2. Knowledge in Odia
Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and must have passed at least the Middle English (M.E.) School examination with Odia as a language subject.
3. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 42 Years
- (Candidate must have been born between 2nd January 1984 and 1st January 2005).
Age Relaxations:
- 5 Years for SC, ST, SEBC, Women, and Ex-Servicemen.
- 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or more disability.
Examination Fee & Refund Policy
- General / SEBC Candidates: Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred) payable online.
- SC / ST / PwD Candidates: Exempted (NIL).
⚠️ Important Refund Rule: The Rs. 700/- examination fee is refundable! The fee will be refunded only to those General/SEBC candidates who actually appear in both papers of the Written Examination. Refunds will be processed back to the original mode of payment after the exam concludes.
Selection Process & Written Exam Pattern
The selection for OPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer will strictly be on the basis of a Written Examination. There is no interview stage mentioned for this phase.
