Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following statutory requirements before submitting their application:
1. Gender & Community
- The applicant must be a female candidate belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST / ଆଦିବାସୀ) category.
- Exemption for Existing Anganwadi Helpers: Anganwadi Helpers (AWH) possessing the required educational criteria and having more than 5 years of active service experience in the center can be considered even if they do not belong to the SC/ST categories.
2. Residential Requirement
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of the operational service area/hamlet of the specific Anganwadi Center applied for.
3. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: Completed 18 Years
- Maximum Age: Not more than 35 Years
4. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed Higher Secondary / Class 12th (+2 Pass) from a recognized Council or Board.
5. Language Proficiency
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Odia fluently.
- Must have passed the Matriculation Examination in Odia medium or passed Middle English (M.E.) school examination with Odia as a subject.

Monthly Honorarium & Service Nature
- Monthly Honorarium: ₹10,000/- per month fixed honorarium.
- Service Nature: Purely honorary and voluntary in nature under ICDS scheme norms. The post does not carry regular civil government employee status, and recruitment is not governed by the ORV Act 1975 or 1959 employment rules. The selected worker cannot claim regularization into government service in the future.
Selection Process & Extra Weightage Criteria
Selection is conducted on the basis of Academic Merit (+2 Percentage) along with additional marks allocated for special categories under government guidelines:
- Academic Score: Percentage of marks secured in the Class 12th (+2) Examination.
- Additional Weightage: Extra marks are awarded for candidates meeting the following criteria:
- Belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST)
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD with 40% or more disability)
- Widow
- Orphan girl
- Destitute / Divorced / Deserted women
- Higher educational qualifications beyond +2
- Prior service as ECCE Worker or Balwadi Worker
